Happy Halloween

I was feeling Halloween-ish, so I wrote a poem :) & Its obviously based on that Xmas story

Twas the night before Halloween, when all through the castle
The un-dead were partying, and having a blast.
The pumpkins were carved, and tricks were planned,
In hopes that Frankenstein would soon be there.

The vampires were nestled all snug in their coffins,
Ready to wake from their blood-filled visions.
The Zombies were feeling tired and inert
From eating too many brains for dinner and dessert.

When in the graveyard, there arose such a clatter,
The ghosts and ghouls wondered what was the matter.
Away to the window, the crow flew like a flash,
And ran into the glass, with an ear-splitting crash.

The moon that broke through the clouds was full,
Giving momentary life to all the gargoyles
Out of the shadows a figure came into sight,
Perched on a broom, in a pointy black hat

With a wart covered driver, so mysterious and quick,
It was clear in a moment, it must be a witch.
With the approach of a bat, wearing a black cape
She whistled and announced that Hallow was her name.

A black cat purred and a werewolf howled
The witch felt a fright, and jumped at the sounds
She stepped off her broom and stumbled around,
And into an open grave, the witch fell down.

She spoke not a word, embarrassed from the fall,
When the skeleton offered her a hand, it snapped off!
She handed him back his hand, with a groan
After rolling her eyes, up from the grave she rose.

She sprang to her broom, eager to leave,
And away she flew with inhuman speed.
The witch exclaimed, as she flew out of sight,
"Happy Halloween to all, and to all a good fright!”
